Friday brunch concept has slowly seeped into our lives as we complete 8 years of married life in Dubai and year after year, we only see it grow bigger and better.

Located in a chic Roda Al Murooj, Pergolas is right at the lobby level of the hotel – well detailed, casual, eclectic and interactive. The outdoor terrace overlooking the stunning property and the pool is the right spot you should be heading over to for al fresco dining in this beautiful Dubai winters.

To start with, there are a number of stations within the buffet portion of the brunch including a variety of cold cuts and cheese, tex mex, salads, dips, cold Arabic mezze and sushi; and while it may be impossible to cover all of the items, step up beside the live BBQ section for some hot off-the-pit flavorful lamb kebabs, chicken tikkas, gourmet steak, fresh grilled prawns and fish to pair up with your favorite drink.

While shawarma cuts was one of my favorites apart from the grills, the Indian station came close second. Exactly what happens when you feed Biryani to an Indian on a breezy Friday afternoon!

At every brunch I’ve been to, my dessert plate only got minimal with the repetition of International desserts but Pergolas has an array of Arabic sweets I loved to fill my plate with. Little A loved the chocolate fountain and red velvet cake.

As you would expect from Roda, the food quality was apt and service efficient. All of this takes place in a relaxed atmosphere that is a great place to spend a quality time with family and friends. You may find yourself striking a conversation with the staff at one time and the next humming to party beats by a DJ. The brunch is great with a wide range of delicacies to cater to every taste bud. It’s a fine way to spend two or three hours on a lovely Dubai Friday, during this season.
